What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate Marketing is were you sell other people’s products and earn a commission on each sale you make as an Affiliate. You are given your own specific urllink that you promote and each person that clicks on your link and buys earns you a commission. The nice thing about this kind of marketing is the simplicity of it, you don’t have to create a product or do all the research that goes along with that. This can be very time consuming and very complicated for the new online marketer. You can promote numerous products at the same time and earn multiple commissions(even without your own website or hosting) but I highly recommend you get your own website and hosting for a lot of reasons, mainly because it promotes a professional image and it is a way for you to capture names and email addresses through an opt-in box placed on your site so you can start building your own list(You have heard it over and over I am sure…”The money is in the list”). Once you have captured the names you would forward them to your affiliate url at that time.
How to Get Started as an Affiliate?
Good Question! There are so many programs and products out there..what to choose? what to Choose? Well I would suggest you go to a site called Clickbank and sign up there(It’s Free), they promote thousands of E-Book related products on a variety of subjects, spend some time on the site checking out all the different products and niches. Pick one and start promoting it. There are a lot of very good programs out there to help you start your online venture(step by step instructions for the newbie) some Free and some not so Free!! as well as some terrible and overpriced crap as well, so my advice is beware of what you choose, I have been guilty of buying some very bad stuff myself. I hate to think how many thousands of dollars I have spent since I started in this crazy but wonderful business and how many of those programs are gathering dust on my hard drive.
There is a lot of good help and advice out there so just take your time and look for it. Affiliate Marketing is by far the cheapest and easiest way to start out though and it is a lot of fun when you see those commission checks coming in……Good Luck and I hope to see you in the Winner’s Circle”
